Blogtoberfest Day 13/Happy Birthday Nanny

It's my mum's birthday today so we headed out after swimming lessons for lunch with her and Poppy.

Mum has just started knitting again after not doing it for decades so for her present I headed off to Spotlight and spent up big on a couple of pattern books and some yarn and accessories (There is about another 2 dozen balls of yarn that aren't in the picture).

I had to sew her something to go with it of course, so I made up this little bag to hold what she working on from this tutorial at Pink Penguin. I picked the fabric to go with the lap quilt I made her back at Mother's Day. I made ths bag up a bit bigger in the tutorial, instead of 2" squares I made them 3" and then cut the base fabric a bit bigger as well.

Of course there is a secret agenda, everything she's knitting is for Isabella & Liam so I end up with it all back!.

Lisa, thats great, I thought it looked bigger in the photo with all that stash in it...seems like a very versatile pattern....I am really keen to make some sort of larger sewing basket with a more stable bottom...thinking of using Fast to Fuse....just need to sit down and think it through....
