Let's Get Maybelle to the Ellen Show

1 comment:

Sewing has slowed down since KCWC, nothing finished to show yet, but I have been busy working on websites and blogs for customers while wearing my designer hat at Cameron Solutions.

One of the projects I worked on a couple of weeks ago was for Let's Get Maybelle to the Ellen Show. If you haven't heard about this great cause for a very special girl (and her family), have a look. They are holding an auction from the 5th November and I have donated a custom blog design here. So go over and make a bid from the 5th and check out the other fantastic donations up for bidding. Oh and while your there, one of my car wraps is up for auction as well.

So while work has been busy... hello new Nanny who we hired, I think I love you... I spent some time this week giving ye 'ole blog a few tweaks as well. Bit like a guinea pig for code writing around here. So now there are summaries of my posts, a feed from my Instagram, category drop down, social networking icons and a few other little bits and pieces in the background.

Facelift

1 comment:
After doing some work for customers lately on their blog templates and sinking my teeth into some good old HTML coding, I decided to do some work on mine. More tweaking to come, but I'm loving the nice clean look.

Housekeeping

Over the weekend I had a bit of a buff and polish of 'ye ole blog. The tutorials page has been added up the top as well as a few changes to the page. There is also a new memes page for the sew a longs I have done. Im not one to check my stats but with the new blogger interface its easy to see and caught my eye last week. I'm still surprised how many visits I get, especially since I get only a couple of comments here and there, but the tutorials pages are still very popular. I plan on updating these a bit with some new tutorials I have found so if you see any great tutorials, send them to me or just leave a comment with a link.. I love getting comments.

ensparkle

1 comment:
Other than slowly plodding along on my knitting, there's not much time for sewing around here. A few little crafty projects that I need proper light to photograph tomorrow that are all for family and friends, but too busy with "work".

Couple of weeks ago the lovely Helen from ensparkle who I have started seeing in a new local craft group asked me to help make her blog and bigcartel shop look the same as her website www.ensparkle.com.

All done and looking spiffy. Head over but watch your keyboard, the cuteness of her bowls and cups and plates may lead to excessive drooling. One of those ceramic "lait" jugs with super cute cows on it WILL be mine.

Now on to the next customer...

No finished knitting, no sewing, but my other "craft" aka "work" has been busy. A new look for a couple of blogs...

and more of the same this week.

Blogtoberfest Day 28: The Red Thread

3 comments:
Who doesn't know Lisa @ The Red Thread? Well you should go over, her stuff is fantastic (drool over the Sushibird tiles) and her blog has had a mini-facelift a la Cameron Solutions (aka me).

So I'm kind of being crafty if you count being knee-deep in HTML coding. Hopefully something more exciting aka sewing to share in the next couple of days. Hubby has advised me his laptop (that I just made a cover for) has been upgraded so he'll need a new cover for it.

Homemade: The Handmade Help recipe book OUT NOW!

2 comments:
Thank you to everyone who has already ordered their copy of Homemade: The Handmade Help recipe book. Those who pre-ordered a printed copy should be receiving them very very soon if you haven't already. Mine arrived Friday and finally this afternoon, the house is quiet while Dean and the kids are running rampant in the playground, my coffee is made and I'm perusing the pages now. There's even a couple of recipes in it from me, try the Sausgae Bake and Lemonade Scones. Yum. Decisions decisions on what to try first...

Make sure you get over to the website and order yourself a copy pronto, they're selling like hotcakes or pancakes or waffles... whichever you fancy.

Facelift

2 comments:
Yep my blogs getting old, it was too far gone for just botox, it needed a whole new facelift. Like? There are so many fantastic free templates out in the world-wide-web and sure I do have the knowledge to have done it all from scratch but who has the time for that when they decide to do a complete overhaul during a little person's naptime with no prior planning.

BloesemKids

1 comment:

Are you a reader of BloesemKids like me? Imagine my childlike-giddiness when the lovely Irene from BloesemKids (and Bloesem) asked me to help give the BKids site a face lift!

Yep if you head over here you will see it in all it's new fanciness. I can't take credit for the design/look, that's all Irene's talent, I just did the background stuff like CSS and coding and templates and modules... but I'm still really happy with the result and she seems like another happy customer.

Make sure if you head over you have plenty of time because Irene posts things from all around the world that are devine and make my credit card whine.

Another New Website.. No New Sewing..

No comments:
Boo hiss no sewing to show for the past few days, I've been busy with a whole stack of new customers and old ones wanting things done too. Here's the latest, a website for a lovely lady who has a guide for Single Mothers.

Another couple new sites and some Search Engine Optimisation to be done, if only I had an extra 10 hours a day to get it all done then I could go get re-aquainted with my sewing machine.

Blogtoberfest Day 22/Classic Emily

1 comment:
Another customer website up and running, one more thing off the "proper" work list. Classic Emily's site went live a little while ago, but since it's Blogtoberfest I'm racking my brain what I have forgotten to blog. My fave has to be these groovy Combi's, I'd love one for Liam's room!

To all those yawning and wanting crafty stuff, I did get some more secret squirrel stuff done today so see you back here tomorrow for the reveal. Don't get too excited, it's not THAT great.

OP Plumbing Live!

No comments:
Another reason for no finished sewing this week... a website for one of my new customers went live yesterday. It's always a big relief to finish one of these big projects. Checkout www.opplumbing.com.au for what I SHOULD be doing when I'm sewing. On to the other bunch of websites to be finished! What's the saying, when it rains it....

Villa Onje Work

No comments:
No more finished sewing projects this week, one of my new clients website's went live, http://www.villaonjebali.com A couple more are also verrry near going live which will be a relief.

I do have a couple of projects almost done for Liam's Christening next week. Hopefully all finished off this weekend and I can share.

On the kiddy front, it's official... Liam is on the move! He commando crawled a couple of moves the other night but yesterday got his act together and was dragging himself all over the place. Worringly he seems to have a thing for shoes and even cornered Isabella tonight and tried gnawing on her shoes... while they were still on. He's like a possessed man, sees a pair of shoes and scoots right over to play with them. His Nanny works in a shoe shop and she will be pleased. At least he'll share his love of shoes with his sister who has more than most whole families combined!.

Empire Marinas Work

No comments:
Had a lovely breakfast with a friend this morning down at Cronulla. I didn't get any of my bacon of course, Isabella is truly her father's child, but it was yummy none the less.

No time for sewing though today... sniff... one of my customers went live with a new website I created so most of the afternoon was spent uploading files, testing... etc... So I count my "crafty" thing for the day all the graphic design work and eyes bulging at coding. http://www.empiremarinas.com.au/.
