School spot

In our old house, it was just Bella at school every day, so we had one basket in her room with all her school things and remembering what to take each day was simple. With the new house and now Liam and Bella are both at school every day and Miss Eva on Fridays, there's a little more to remember... and more school things! Books, hats, sport shoes, school shoes, library bags etc etc.

This week I finished off a little spot in the toy room for everything including some planners I designed so each child can see what they need on each day.

A hook for school hats, a planner to see what they need, the shelf is for their bags and the basket holds their school shoes, books, library bags and everything else school related.

Red

Sew Lisette 1893 & Clean Slate Pants
Last year my girl got an Olivia figurine that was all dressed for the Opera in a little red strapless ball gown, all the way down to the floor, nice and poofy. She asked me for a matching one a few weeks ago, and with some agreements on slight modifications... umm no it's not going to be strapless... and voila. She loves it. No LOVES it.
Sew Lisette 1893
The bodice is cut from Sew Lisette 1893, and for the skirt pieces I used the full width of the fabric and gathered it to match the bodice. The fabric is just a red poplin.

Clean Slate Pants
My boy, he needed and wanted some new pants, so with the last of some red drill in my stash and a pair of funky pants for my dude.

The pattern is from Blank Slate and highly recommended. I love this pattern:

A. Unisex
B. Sized from 18 month - 8 years
C. Short, capri or pant length
D. Choice of pull-on or functional zipper

So all three kids can get something from it and Eva is next for some shorties.

Cornwell Park

You would be fooled for believing it is Summer. I wore boots today. The first of February in an Australian summer and I wore boots. Not to mention the umbrellas we have needed...

On the upside, it is perfect weather for sitting on the lounge in the evening when the small people are tucked in bed and working on some knitting including a little red shrug for Bella finished this week. Cornwell Park Shrug Cornwell Park Shrug
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK in a beautiful deep red
Pattern: Cornwell Park Shrug (Ravlery link)

Ive also finished a lovely pink top, but Eva is refusing to try it on. Must buy some more bananas to bribe her with for photos...
